Boite. Con questo termine si indica la piccola fabbrica, l’officina di periferia o di provincia. La zona dove sono nato ne era piena e si trattava per lo più di stabilimenti satellite-fiat. In cerri casi furono teatro di alcune delle più terribili tragedie dellla stroia indiustriale italiana. Come le piccole fiammiferaie della Phos di Rocca Canavese, andate a fuoco agli inizi del Novecento. Oppure i 200 operai morti per anilina nella "Fabbrica della Morte", l'IPCA di Ciriè. Oggi i capannoni giacciono abbandonati intorno alle città, spesso impossibili da raggiungere perché non esistono più i tratti di strada che ne permettevano l’acccesso. Ruderi attaccati dalla giungla piemontese che se n’è impossessata, così come ha fatto quella del sud est asiatico con gli antichi templi buddisti.
