Inizio anni Novanta. Torino, Via Buniva. Un vecchio stabile abbandonato viene occupato da immigrati clandestini provenienti da latitudini, atmosfere e continenti diversi. Una realtà come tante altre in città. E in altre città della penisola. Primi difficoltosi esperimenti di metropoli multietnica. Primi mix eterogenei di colori, idiomi, sapori profumi. Il brano veniva suonato in versione elettrica tra il 1991 e il 1992 dagli Arigret, quartetto dell'estrema periferia torinese, che riuniva musicisti di provenienza diversa: Federico Marchesano (basso), Massimo Rossi (sax), Dario Bruna (batteria), Luigi Bairo (chitarra e voce). Muovendosi con una libertà espressiva tipica degli anni Settanta, gli Arigret mescolavano con estrema disinvoltura jazz, metal, rap, progressive, richiami alla musica etnica di un vasto, impreciso Oriente. La nuova versione del 2012 reinterpreta il brano come lo suonerebbe oggi un’ipotetica, un tantino appesantita, forse poco probabile, Ochestrina Elettroacustica della Barriera.
